Alright, justification: This one was really difficult, so I tried to make an image based on her lyrics ("Someone used to cradle them and kiss them when they cried........Where's that new world now the fighting's done?"). The center is a pieta-type image, to fit the maternal imagery, also mixed with the idea from the book that the Republic is the mother, and inspired by such works as Honoré Daumier's "Republic". I tried to include the actual 'turning women' as well.
Turning, turning turning through the years....
...oh, right, you already mentioned that. ha.
Gosh, that's gorgeous. As always. Such exquisite detail.
Not only the use of black and white, but also the classic influences you used: like the pieta-pose and such.
