Fanart for Barricade Day. Tried to finish it on June 6th, but that didn't work out.

One of the most beautiful/ depressing scenes in Les Misérables: the death of Enjolras and Grantaire. R.I.P.

There are a ton of things that I am unhappy with...Perhaps one day I will revisit it and try to do the scene justice.

Um...I know this may be a lot to ask, but I am doing an illuminated manuscript of Orestes Fasting and Pylades Drunk for a school project and I was wondering if I could use this as reference for the art (like the border and the small scenes on the sides) it wouldn't be a copy of it just used as something to look at. If you do not mind, that is.

Oh my goodness. I nearly teared up. This is so beautiful and sad... You've done some wonderful work, and if you do revisit this scene someday I'd love to see that! :)

;______________________________________; </3 I feel sad for them, I really do. They've become like good friends to me during last three months. And I agree, this is one of the most beautiful scenes in Les Mis, though it's awfully depressing.

Awesome work, I love this.

I have to agree, I already knew these guys were going to die, but this was the pair of deaths next to Valjean for me. God that scene gets me all the time. Even in the musical....

Thanks so much!
Ah, yes. I know exactly what you're talking about, with the characters feeling like friends. And then it's sometimes even worse carrying the knowledge of their fate as you read. Ah well, at least they can always be resurrected briefly for another reading, if that's any consolation. Oh, and that their ideals live on.
