A Heart Full of Love by That-Poor-Tyrant A Heart Full of Love by That-Poor-Tyrant
Marius and Cosette. I like Cosette, but that does not look like my image of Marius. Oh well. I'm happy for it being a 1.00 am doodle and now I think I shall go pass out from the marker fumes.

Edit: ......oh shit. I just realized Cosette's hands are switched. *facepalm* Apparently my brain stops functioning at 1 am.

Thank you! Heh...When drawing Marius and Cosette, it's hard to resist hearts and frilly things- reading them is a bit like getting sugar shock.
Thank you for the fav and the watch as well!

Your work is brilliant. Why am I not watching you?

Excuse me whilst I go and remedy that.

Oooh, I love the tree. You're so brilliant with creative borders and embellishing and such. It's amazing.
And I do wish I had your markers. Markers seem to be very nice for coloring things.

Aw, thank you! The tree was the most fun to do, and in retrospect my favourite part of this.
You should definitely experiment with markers- there are no particularly amazing brands, just mix them and see what happens. Even cheap sharpies are good.

Will do! I have such trouble finding a proper skin color, though. Any recommendations?

Hmm...Prismacolor has a great line of random shades like "eggshell", "brick white", "salmon" and "putty". You can mix these with BIC beige or markers from the Faber-Castell "terra" set. Light greys from Faber-Castell are also really good for shadows, although similar effects can be made by just putting something like "eggshell" over areas already shaded in pencil. Alternatively, there is a thing called a Prismacolor Blender, which has no pigment, but if you run it over a section coloured with pencils, it melts them to give them a smoother look. Hope that helps.

Ach, but Prismacolors are expensive.....
Well, I think I've seen the craft store selling them individually, so maybe I can just get a couple there for skin. "Eggshell", "salmon", and "putty", then? And I'm assuming you can layer when you color with Prismacolors, yes?

And ooh, that blender sounds lovely.

Yes, thank you!

Yup, they're frequently sold individually, but of those shades, eggshell is definitely the best, and salmon is good for lips and blushes. Putty sometimes has a bit of a purplish hue, so maybe you'll want to skip out on that one. And yes, Prismacolors are brilliant for layering, just keep a paper between your drawing and desk (those pigments really burn right through, especially when layering atop other markers...to the point where I have to figure out how to get the blue out of my dorm desk or my uni's probably going to charge me for property damage. Er...).

Well, thank you very much for the advice, then! I shall try to get my hands on some eggshell and salmon.
(And best of luck with your desk. Have you tried rubbing alcohol and the like? That works to get ink out of things sometimes. And I don't know if this applies with Prismacolors, but it does work with sharpies - if you draw over the mark with an Expo marker, it'll go away when you wipe it off. At least, it did on my desks in school...)

I could totally see Cosette and Marius reminiscing about the first days of their love in that song "Heaven". It would be cute.
But thank you and I'm glad you liked the pic.
